I am : CLOSE

Well, after my remarkable birthday at Sweeney's (thanks to: Sex, James, Anna, Tyler, Kennedy, Finkler, Jon, Jake(s), Beth, and of course my lovely Grace) I wasn't really feeling up to working out on Thursday...or Friday. That's the drawback to Alcohol for me. First, there's the caloric intake, which is bad enough. But, I can overcome that. Second, and worst, is that it is a depressant. I was in more or less of a funk for two days after one night of drinking. Granted, my tolerance is quite what it once was, but this shouldn't be the case. Anyway, missed Thursday and Friday. Too bad. But, Saturday, I decided to make up for it in one fell blow by running 24 miles. It took a while. 3 hours and 20 minutes for those of you counting at home. That's about an 8:20 pace. It looks like I'm well on my way to finishing the TCM in under 4 hours. Usually people don't run that far during training, but...it was hard. My legs were more or less destroyed at the end. I tried sprinting the last block to see what would happen, and it was completely impossible. I couldn't do it at all. James reminds me that the adreneline of the day (crowds, excitement, etc...) will push me over the top and give me that last little something I'll need to turn in a great time.

hey guy...happy belated birthday
big bronze really came back strong after too many beers in europe, any suggestions for a new excercise routine? I feel like shit after basically not working out at all for a month. By the way i grew a beard in europe, nothing like your three-month project in budapest but still a huge step for a guy who hates shaving yet does it all the time.

whaaaaat!?!? E, I gotta see the beard. You have to post pics or send some or whatever. Let me know. As for a new workout routine? You mean lifting? Cardio? Nutrition?

Lemme know.

I think I should try the routine you were on when I left SP, the one where you made a bunch of meals and took them with you to work. I don't know if you're still on that diet but I want to try something new. I'm also trying to run more even though I hate doing it, I figure it's the best way to get in shape. I'm doing fine with the lifting, I just need to know what to eat and how much to run to work on the cardio thing. I'll send pics of the beard, its not much but looks pretty funny.

E-town, first, we should probably do this by email so that people don't become fed up with our public displays of attempted self-improvement. I know I would be. So, send me a file which contains:

1. Current weight and body fat% (if you don't know that, well, guess?, you should probably find out some time)
2. Current lifting program
3. Current cardio program
4. Goals (strength, weight gain, muscle mass, fat loss, etc...)
5. Foods you absolutely will NOT eat
6. Foods you absolutely LOVE to eat (be reasonable, I'm not talking about pizza, I mean, y'know, chicken breast, steak, etc...)
7. Your schedule, i.e., how much time you have for working out
8. Anything else that might impact/impede this process (i.e., always eating dinner with parents, etc...)

Looking forward to the pics. And yes, I'm still on the "diet", though I prefer not to think of it as a "diet" because if you can go "on" a diet then you can go "off" a diet. Which won't happen.

Fallenangel,

Yes, I played tennis at Macalester. Though I missed most of my sophomore year and all of my junior year.
